David P Bergeron

David P. Bergeron, 74, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Saturday, April 29, 2017 in his residence surrounded by family.

Born in North Adams, MA on September 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Dorothy (Duval) Bergeron. David graduated from Williamstown High School with the Class of 1960.

He was United States Vietnam War Air Force Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal SO G-5, 57 Air Division, 1964.

He was employed by Collier-Keyworth Company of Gardner as a Plant Manager for 21 years, and was later employed by Cumberland Farms of Baldwinville as a Store Manager for 23 years.

David was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and Martin’s Church, both of Baldwinville.

He was also a member of the American Legion Roger P. Warfield Post #373 of Baldwinville, Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2536 of Otter River, Acadien Social Club of Gardner, Deep Sea Club of Gardner, and Otter River Sportsman’s Club of Templeton.

David was an active and dedicated member of the Templeton community for many years. He was one of the original founders of the Templeton Rescue Squad, was a dispatcher for the Fire and Police Departments and was also a Templeton firefighter. He served as the Town of Templeton Accountant for 19 years, and also served as Town Moderator and Town Assessor. In addition, he was a member of the Town of Templeton Conservation Commission and Communication Commission.

David leaves his wife Jessica A. (White) Bergeron of Baldwinville; son, David M. Bergeron and his wife Candy of Gardner; daughter, Sandra M. Hill and her husband Thomas of Otter River; and five grandchildren, Thomas P. Hill, Jr., Katharine M. Hill, Elijah S. Hill, Isabelle V. Hill and Jamison T. Lajoie. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jo Ann M. (Arsenault) Bergeron who died in 1999. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will be at a later date in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
