Virginia L. Darling 1941 - 2014 POWNAL Virginia L. "Ginny" Darling, 72, a resident of Lincoln Street in Pownal, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, surrounded by her family. Ginny was born in North Adams, on Nov. 29, 1941, the daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel Blake Garrison.

She received her education in Williamstown, Mass., graduating from Williamstown High School.

Ginny enjoyed watching her soap operas and taking care of her famiy. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Jr., and was also a Boston Red Sox fan. Ginny cherished times spent with her children and grandchildren.

Ginny is survived by her husband, Stanley Darling, of Pownal, whom she married in Pownal in January, 1961; her children, Bruce Edward Darling and his wife, Angela, of Pownal, Brian Eugene Darling and his fiance, Amanda, of New Hampshire, Tina Parent and her husband, Chanel, of Pownal, and Tammy Dewey and her husband, Tony, of North Carolina; sister, Beverly Walsh and her husband, Brian, of Pownal; grandchildren, Joshua, Katalin, Mason, Samantha, Micheala, Sarah, Maria, Austin and Brandon; her great grandchild, Lilly, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Ginny will be held Monday afternoon, April 7, 2014, at 1 p.m., in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. There are no visiting hours.
